Dear Ege,

Maybe you are not a Muslim, but you need to understand that we do not take these things lightly. I am glad that you are on this platform, but you should know that halal is not a joke.

For Muslims, halal is a serious matter of faith, not an exaggerated rule or a trivial preference. It is an act of obedience to Allah, just like keeping kosher is for Jews or following religious dietary laws in other faiths. It is about purity, discipline, and devotion.

However, in this video, there are clear elements of mockery, such as the references to "halal water," "halal toilet," and even questioning whether a bag is "halal." This is not genuine curiosity or an innocent mistake, it is sarcasm that belittles something sacred to us.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

"And if you ask them, they will surely say, 'We were only conversing and playing.' Say, 'Was it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?'" (Surah At-Tawbah 9:65-66)

There is a difference between genuine kindness and respect, and making a spectacle out of religious observance. No one is asking others to follow halal rules, but mocking them crosses the line from humor into disrespect.

A true sign of respect is understanding that someone’s religious beliefs are not something to be turned into satire, even if one does not personally follow them.

May Allah guide us all to respect and understand one another.

Brother, not everything should be reduced to legal rulings alone. In my last post, I openly admitted that I smoke cigarettes, which is haram. But that is my life and my responsibility before Allah. Similarly, whatever Lily chooses to do is between her and Allah.

Maybe she has found wisdom in presenting da’wah in a way that makes her content more accessible to millions of people. We cannot ignore the reality that many in the West, due to ignorance or bias, turn away when they see a hijab or niqab. Perhaps she is navigating this reality with a purpose we do not fully understand.

I am sure that Lily knows hijab is fard, but that is between her and her Lord. If I were in your place, I would be more concerned about the fact that you said smoking is makrooh and not haram, than about whether she wears hijab or not.

After iftar, I stood by the window...

After iftar, I stood by the window, made a cup of coffee, and lit a cigarette. I know I’m not perfect, but in that moment, I felt something greater than myself, gratitude.

I had been hungry and thirsty all day, and now I had everything in front of me. And I asked myself, what had really changed? And then I realized, I had changed.

Because gratitude isn’t about what we have, it’s about how we experience it. And maybe that’s the essence of Ramadan, to remind us not to take things for granted.

We are quick to forget the blessings we have, so Allah has honored us with this month, allowing us to experience deprivation, so that we may truly feel gratitude and be conscious of Him.

So let me get this straight, when it comes to a man's fitna, the solution is to add more wives, but when it comes to a woman's fitna, the solution is to erase her from society (post you made about Lily Jay's niqab)? If fitna was truly the issue, the first step should be taqwa, lowering the gaze, fasting, and self-discipline. But no, some men prefer an easier solution, more wives instead of more self-control. Islam teaches responsibility and justice, not double standards.

To be clear, hijab and niqab are part of Islam, and may Allah bless every woman who wears them sincerely. But we should not manipulate Islamic rulings to push double standards. Fitna is an issue for both men and women, and the first solution should always be taqwa and self-discipline.

May Allah guide us all.

The special place of a broken-hearted person with Allah (swt)

This article serves as a guide that takes an inner journey about where and how a person can seek their Creator.

Unopened Doors: Prayer and Hearts Touched

Imagine having a person in front of you who possesses all the resources of the world. They are well-fed, healthy, have everything they desire, and have a vast fortune they spend recklessly, not even thinking about tomorrow. We're not making a generalization, but such individuals often rarely feel the need to pray. For them, life is just a constant pursuit of more wealth, more prestige, and higher positions. However, in the Quran, Allah the Almighty points to this ingratitude of humans and warns us:

"Whenever We bestow favors upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil befalls him, he comes full of prolonged supplications." (41/51)

"Man is, indeed, very ungrateful to his Lord. To this, he himself bears witness, and…
